RELATION OF POSITION AND AGE OF FLOWERS TO SUCCESS IN SELFING IN TORIA

Published on

RASSICA CAMPESTRIS var. toria is known to be a highly self-incompatible form, though
bud-pollination, two to three days before opening, can give good seed production.
Selfing two or three days after flower opening may also give a better seed set than selfing
freshly opened flowers. In this note, the effect of the location and age of such selfed
buds on pod formation and seed set in variety
Toria Abohar is reported.
