Abstract

The study based on multiple selection criteria in F2 population of six rice crosses revealed the desirable responses in most of the characters under study in F3 generation. However, nonsignificant values of intergeneration rank correlation and best vs worst variance ratio indicated the absence of response to selection on the basis of grain yield per se. Further selections in two crosses, N22 XFH109 and N22 XlET 1444, are expected to give better responses in succeeding generation.
