Abstract
Professor Ram Badal! Singh, yet another distinguished life member and a past-President (1997-99) of the Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding has done us great proud on this Republic Day, 26th January 2003. In recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions towards enhanced and sustained agricultural production, food security and poverty alleviation, Professor R. B. Singh has been decorated with Padma Shushan - one of India's highest civilian awards given by the President of India.
