DIPLOTAXIS TENUISILIQUA x BRASSICA CAMPESTRIS HYBRIDS OBTAINED BY EMBRYO RESCUE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Studies on pollen germination, pollen tube growth and micropylar penetration in the cross D. tenuisiliqua x B. campestris revealed that 0.06% ovules were fertilized at 5 days after pollination. Field pollination did not set seeds in this cross. Sequential culture of ovaries and ovules helped obtain intergeneric hybrids. Starch gel electrophoresis for peroxidases established true nature of the hybrids.
