Abstract

The high gca magnitude revealed the higherlevel of additive genetic variance compared to nonadditive variance is an indicative of directselection for high protein and lysine content linesin the segregating population. The reciprocal effectsforsugar contentrevealed careful choice for female parents. The ratio of dominant to recessive genes and that of H2/4H, confirmed the equal distribution ofdominant and recessive genesfor protein content, while for lysine and sugar content there were some deviations.
