Inheritance and linkage relationship between morphological and RAPD markers in lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.)
Main Article Content
Abstract
Inheritance and linkage relati, onship befween eiaM morphological and RAPD marker:; were studied in lentil based on the analysis of F2 pdpulatlon of the crossL 6163 x L 830. All morphological ,traits showed monogenip mode of inheritance. Jqlnt segregation analysis between morPhOIOg~al markers 'revealed that the. traits leaf, ste,n and pod igmentation .wj!re 1.lnkedto each other. One I\undred a d foooy RAPDdeqamer primers were screened for detection of po~morph1sm in the two' parents viz., L 6163 and L 830'9"1y r\ltte primers showed reprqducible polymorphism am.QllQ U1e'parents. Out of nine polymorphic primers only two primet :(OP~ 02soc and OPM 06900) gave expected monogell'ic:'mode ",of inheritance. Joint segregation analysis between RAPD marker 0li'M 06900 and other mOJphplogical markers revealed that the traits leaf and stem pigmentation are linked with marker OPM· 06900 at the map distance of 7.23 and 12.50 Kosambi unit, respectively. The other marker OPS 02600 did not show any linkage among the morphological traits under study.
